‘JoviOS’ May Replace Soon FunTouch OS, Teases Vivo

Jovi is the name of Vivo‘s smart assistant that ships with its phones. It offers features such as an image recognizer and a smart scene mode that automatically sends news or notification based on the selected scene/mode. The project manager for FunTouch OS has shared a new logo design for its upcoming user interface. The new UI is known as Jovi OS. For those who are not aware, Jovi is the virtual assistant from Vivo.  It seems that “FuntouchOS” will be renamed to “JoviOS” and “JoviOS” will not be a totally different OS. The teaser was posted earlier this week by a Funtouch OS Project Manager on Weibo without any further details on the subject.

Vivo will announce a specific adaptation plan of its JoviOS in its upcoming conference. According to the source, there might be a completely separate event for JoviOS. As can be seen in the image above, the JoviOS logo seems like more of a rough sketch than the final design, but the presence of Chinese characters seem to suggest that the change will be made both in the Chinese and the global versions of the software.

In case you don’t know it already, Jovi is the name of Vivo’s voice-based personal assistant, which means AI-based software might be the central theme of the new ROM.  The company is all set to launch the smartphone in the month of December. The company recently revealed new teasers that hint a new periscope-like camera, which we have seen in Huawei P30 Pro.
